About

My design style combines site and setting appropriate design with the inclusion of found and vintage objects and materials. Adaptive and artistic reuse, natural materials, and high contrast is emphasized. Edgy feeling finishes with a punk attitude with the inclusion of reused materials or objects in a new and unexpected manner. Comfortable and ergonomic interiors do not have to lack humor or attitude.

Research into regional history and building site legacy kicks off the design process. Once this context is established, I work with the client to extract their key interests and devise a concept combining both the site context and client objectives. Using the concept as the design anchor, bubble diagrams, space planning, schematics, material selection and detailed drawings follow. I like to extend the concept through the renderings and include appropriate inspirational entourage to get bring humor to the project.
